Private Psychological Therapy

Psychological Therapy for Adult & Adolescent Mental Health and Wellbeing

The approach used by NPS Clinical Psychologists is solution-driven and relies on working collaboratively with our clients. Often this will include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), but will also utilise a wide range of therapies in which only Psychologists are experienced (e.g EMDR, Compassionate Mind Therapy, Schema Focused Therapy). All of our interventions are individualised to your personal needs. Our approach is imaginative, modern and creative.

Identifying and describing a psychological problem can itself be difficult, although some of the issues might fall into the following broad categories:

  • Depression
  • Low self esteem
  • Anxiety
  • Generalised anxiety (GAD)
  • Health anxiety
  • Panic disorder
  • Social anxiety
  • Phobias
  • Stress
  • Eating and weight difficulties and disorders
  • Problematic use of alcohol, drugs, food and smoking
  • Trauma
  • Reactions to traumatic events in childhood or adulthood
  • e.g. bullying, assult, sexual and/or physical abuse, PTSD, acute stress reactions
  • Anger and Irritability management
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Life changes, adjustments and transitions
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Post-natal depression
  • Relationship problems
  • Sexual identity
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Work / School / Educational issues

Psychological difficulties come about from a combination of genetics, personal and family history and our life experiences. We are all different and unique and develop and express difficulties in different ways. Each of us is different and we develop problems for diverse reasons and express them in a variety of ways. NPS offers an individual approach to you, through which we can uniquely devise evidence based interventions to help you resolve problems.

An assessment will help us to understand the nature of the problems and the part they play in your life currently before discussing options for further treatment.
